HOW IS SINUSITIS TREATED?

The treatment of acute sinusitis is medical.

If it is sinusitis due to viral infection, supportive treatment such as nasal sprays and mechanical cleaning of the nose is sufficient. If there is an allergic problem that facilitates the patient's sinusitis, it is supported by drug therapy for allergy.

Antibiotic therapy is started in patients who do not improve with this supportive treatment or who have signs of bacterial infection.

Surgical treatment is performed for sinusitis that does not respond to drug treatments, persists for more than 12 weeks, or becomes chronic or frequently recurs.
