LIQUID COLLECTION IN THE MIDDLE EAR (OTITIS MEDIA WITH EFFUSION) AND TUBE APPLICATION

The middle ear is an air-filled space behind the eardrum where the hammer, anvil, and stirrup bones are necessary for our hearing. The middle ear is connected to the eustachian tube and the nasal cavity, that is, the back of the nose. The task of the Eustachian tube is to equalize the pressure in the middle ear with the external pressure.   The filling of this space with fluid due to eustachian dysfunction is called otitis media with effusion.
