Things to Consider After Tube Application

During tube application, a small hole is made in the eardrum and a tube made of silicone with an opening in the middle of about 1 mm is inserted into this opened hole. Although there are publications stating that it is not necessary to prevent water from entering the external ear canal after the procedure, it is a safer method to prevent water from entering the external ear canal by wearing earplugs during all activities that may cause water to leak into the ear, such as bathing, showering, swimming, etc.   This protection is continued until the tube in the eardrum comes out and the hole in the eardrum is closed.
